Barn Quilt Trail

11 Stops

Welcome to our Mason County Quilt Barn Trail, a historical journey that takes you to five rural townships in this county. Your excursion will include stops at ten barn sites including a trip to Historic White Pine Village and the Mason County Fairgrounds, an icon of our agricultural economy.

You will experience a unique story told through the imagery and design of all ten quilt squares and enjoy a rural art gallery hung on historic barns.

Taken in its totality, you will be reminded of pioneering immigrant families who settled this land and carved out homesteads and farms. These early farming enterprises were forged by small independent farmers who eked out a subsistence living on a very small acreage. You will stop at a horse farm and recall a time when horse racing was a source of exciting entertainment in this rural community.
